Hi, I'm Salena.
I help busy business owners stop losing marketing to the bottom of the to-do list - so it actually gets done, sounds right, and works.
I started Good Light Marketing to do things my way.
After more than 10 years working in marketing, I knew exactly the kind of business I wanted to build - one where every client has a real point of contact, always knows what's happening, and never has to chase anyone down for an update.
One point of contact. Real strategy. Clear deliverables. Transparent pricing. Marketing built around what your business actually needs - not a packaged template that fits everyone and no one.
I work with established local businesses and organizations that want consistent, hands-on marketing support - without the cost or overhead of bringing someone in-house. Based in Durham, Maine, and available remotely when on-site visits aren't needed.
Over a decade of digital marketing experience.
I've worked in digital marketing since 2015, including more than ten years collaborating with OSC Web Design, a Maine-based web design company. That work gave me hands-on experience with websites, SEO, content strategy, and the many pieces that help businesses build a stronger online presence.
I've also written articles for GoDaddy about web design and small-business marketing. You can read a couple of them here:

A business world that's always felt familiar.
My dad was a carpenter and home contractor. I grew up watching him run his own business - estimating jobs, managing subs, keeping clients happy, solving the problems that came up along the way.
When my husband and I built our own home and my dad was the contractor, I was on the homeowner side - researching subs, meeting with the people we seriously considered. I saw how much trust factors into that decision, and how a business doing genuinely good work can lose the job just because they're hard to find or hard to evaluate.
Tradespeople and home service business owners are running real operations - skilled work on top of estimates, scheduling, employees, materials, and customer calls. They work hard and they're often underserved when it comes to marketing. That's something I care about. See how I help trades and home service businesses.
Beyond the spreadsheets.
When I'm not working, you'll usually find me with my family - hiking, exploring, or just getting outdoors when the weather cooperates. I have a soft spot for thrift shops and small creative projects around the house, so I'm often rearranging something or Trying out a new idea.
Odds are I've got "Stuff You Should Know" or a marketing podcast playing in the background somewhere.
